2025 Spring Brewery Artwalk

May 3rd - 4th

LOS ANGELES, CA — ANDLAB Gallery is proud to present artists Yun Eunja and Sung Kian in two distinct yet thematically intertwined solo exhibitions under the collective title "Layered Traces." This exhibition will be featured during the Spring 2025 Brewery Artwalk, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Curated by Sunook Park, Professor at California State University, Long Beach, "Layered Traces" invites viewers to engage with the subtle interplay of memory, identity, and perception through the intricate layering techniques characteristic of each artist's practice.

Yun Eunja presents a vibrant series of collagraphy-based collage prints, creatively employing everyday objects instead of traditional printmaking plates. Eunja's innovative approach blurs the boundary between painting and printmaking, drawing attention to the nuanced dialogue between the seen and unseen. Her textured compositions, rich with fluid lines and organic forms, invite contemplation and personal interpretation.

Sung Kian explores the intricate relationships between time, space, and personal history through a meticulous layering process in painting and mixed media. Kianʼs work captures ephemeral moments that resonate with emotional depth, emphasizing a thoughtful investigation of the evolving self and collective memory. His artworks reveal themselves slowly, encouraging viewers to discover hidden narratives beneath the surface.

Together, these exhibitions present complementary explorations of how layers—both physical and MN conceptual—reveal, conceal, and transform meaning. Visitors will find themselves immersed in the artists' distinct yet harmonious reflections on the complexities of contemporary existence.

The Brewery Artwalk, one of LAʼs largest open studio events attracting over 10,000 visitors annually, has consistently featured ANDLAB Gallery as one of its must-see exhibitions for the past 20 years.
